What a glorious start to the season! The weather has been extremely kind to us so far. Apart from a couple of days at the start of the month when it was very windy, April has been mainly dry and sunny. Although most mornings have been a bit chilly the afternoons have been spent in delightful sunshine, when we have even had a chance to put shorts on.
We broke out the Pimm’s yesterday for the first time this year, which our guests enjoyed in beautiful sunshine. Let’s hope that it isn’t a step into summer too soon.
The sightings of the spring time birdlife have been many and varied, with all the usual species aplenty. The Tring summit level has proven a delight on each of our 5 crossings we have made over the past 14 days. The Kingfishers have come out almost to order and have entertained our guests, showing off their fabulous colours. A couple have even perched on branches awaiting their photographs being taken.
We have seen a mother and her ducklings enjoying their first swim on the Marsworth flight, thrilling the children passing by.
So far this season, we have had 6 different sets of guests aboard Kailani and have received some fantastic comments and even a drawing from one of our guests.
We are on the way south now, reaching Little Venice at the end of the month, when the Canalway Cavalcade takes place from 2 – 4 May and we catch up with some of our friends.
Here’s looking forward to the rest of our season!
