Our 2016 season is due to start this week and we have been busy getting the boat ready. It is amazing how much there is to do. The engine has had a full service by RCR (River Canal Rescue) and Gordon has been busy making new plant boxes and doing plenty of other jobs around the boat.
We have bought new bedding and have added blackout linings to the cabin curtains. Much better for keeping the light out now. The interior woodwork has been cleaned and polished and some of the external has also been done. Not the easiest and quickest job but well worth the effort with the finished product.
We left the Marina on Wednesday and are heading up to Warwick with our first guests of the year. After this we head down the Grand Union Canal. Later the Thames, River Lee and Kennet and Avon beckons, including our first trip to Bristol. We drove to Bristol Docks last week and are looking forward to our 3 night visit in July.
Most of our routes are through open countryside with beautiful scenery. During the springtime it is always to see the lambs frolicking around the fields. Hopefully we will see plenty of wildlife also kingfishers beware – we have our cameras ready!
If you see us on our journeys feel free to give us a wave.
