A Typical Day

Wake up call with tea or coffee, followed by breakfast with fruit juice, cereal, full English with toast and preserves and tea and coffee.

We start cruising around 10 am. You choose whether to sit back, relax and take in the views or you may wish to help with the locks and occasionally the steering.

This is interrupted by morning coffee with biscuits, then more time to relax.

We make a stop for lunch around 1pm. This is a light casual affair of salad, tartlet or soup etc. with fresh fruit to follow plus tea or coffee of course.

We resume cruising after lunch with more relaxation available or something more energetic for those who wish.

Afternoon tea and cakes will be served as we cruise along or when we reach our destination if preferred.

We generally reach our destination around 5 pm . This may be a canal-side location, a village, occasionally a town centre or somewhere remote in the countryside, where you can explore the surrounding area.

The 4 course dinner with wine will be served at 7 pm. Evening entertainment is a selection of drinks, conversation, board and card games, a good book, TV, a movie or music and reminiscences of the day. Artists and photographers can make use of the surrounding scenery and wildlife.

There is an alternative to total relaxation when you choose one of our Cruises. We stop off to acquaint you with some of the wonderful places on our route. It may be a few minutes to see a canal-side monument or pop into a local shop, to a few hours visiting one of the majestic towns on the River Thames. Or you might fancy a visit to a nature reserve and arable centre or a tour of the world´s oldest mechanised paper mill. Take a look at our Cruising Schedule for more information on which to make your choice. You will find something to suit everyone.

Then it´s time to fall asleep listening to the lapping of water and maybe an old owl reminding us just where we are.
