#1. Warwick to Braunston, 3 nights

Twin Cabin only available. To book this route, please fill out the booking form.

A short peaceful trip from Warwickshire to Northamptonshire, with a few locks to keep us occupied!

Blue Lias

Moored at Blue Lias

We set off from Saltisford, Warwick, and pass by Leamington Spa. Into open countryside, we are soon amongst the flora and fauna, accompanying us during the majority of this trip. The staircase locks at Bascote are of interest, followed by a spurt to the Blue Lias Bridge and up the Stockton flight of locks. Only a further 3 locks now until we reach our destination, so it’s level sailing, passing lovely open views, interrupted only by the flight of 3 locks at Calcutt.

The turn at Napton Junction, where the Oxford Canal slips away to the west, leads us to a lovely 5 mile lockless stretch with hedgerows and ridge and furrow fields alongside.

Sailing at Braunston

Braunston Junction

The entry into Braunston eases us to our destination, close to the famous Stop Hose – but no tolls to pay today! Make a visit to Peter the Ropemaker to see him in action, plus the chance to splice a rope yourself. What a way to impress your friends afterwards!

The journey is 19 miles with 25 locks; enough opportunities to help if you wish.

Scenic and peaceful; probably the best summary of this short cruise.

Join us on Kailani at 2pm. We set off cruising at 3pm. Departure on your last day will be at 10am.
