The wonderful River Thames. A taster!

Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle from the River Thames

At Windsor, the Castle, Eton College, Windsor Great Park and majestic feelings abound.  To allow guests to make local visits, we stay overnight to allow this.

Setting off, we pass Old Windsor and the Albert and Victoria bridges. There are fine views of the castle. We also pass close to Queen Victoria´s former boathouse, seen only from the river.

At Runnymede, where the Magna Carta was sealed in 1215, there are Memorials of Magna Carta, Commonwealth Air Forces and John F. Kennedy. On the north bank are the remains of Ankerwycke Benedictine Priory.
