Our 4th Kailani cruise – and it has been right up to our expectations – sunny when we arrived followed by 5 wet days, then bright and sunny when we’re ready to leave!
2 tunnels, both started aceat 7:30am, a visit to the Peace Pagoda in Milton Keynes (very unexpected), then the wonderful fascinating Bletchley Park, where we spent a very enjoyable afternoon. We will return!
Dorenda’s meals were again a delight – and Gordon got wet!
See you in 2019

This was our first cruise on Kailani from Leighton Buzzard to Berkhamsted in early April 2018. We were not sure what to expect but our expectations were exceeding in every respect.
Gordon and Dorenda are wonderful hosts providing good company and wonderful food. The boat is well appointed, comfortable and beautifully maintained.
We have had a wonderful holiday and hope very much to be back again for another trip on this lovely boat.

Berkhamsted to Little Venice
I absolutely love to travel and have very high expectations. But even I couldn’t/didn’t expect this truly first class week on the rural canal. From the moment I, adult daughters and I boarded the Kailani, absolutely five star plus attention.
Gordon & Dorenda are expert boat handlers! Kailani is spotlessly kept. Every detail is spot on – top quality towels and sheets. Truly gourmet menus and 4 courses. Freshly baked tea sweets twice a day. All this and entertainment with Gordon’s sense of humour and Dorenda’s cuteness and knowledge of the countryside. There is no doubting our return is only when!
Thank you !!!!

Gordon & Dorenda
We had a wonderful time on our adventure with you. Thank you for putting up with all of our silly questions, laughter, endless appetites!
Your cooking was amazing! Gordon’s “charm & wit” were unmatched. I cannot wait to plan another trip with you. If you ever find yourselves in the Central Coast, would like to tour a winery, please give me a call.

Gordon & Dorenda
Thank you for the most incredible trip! I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed myself quite so much. The beautiful scenery was only matched by your gorgeous boat and your warn hospitality.
Thank you for your conversation and joining in all the laughter – it was a most memorable voyage!

What a wonderful way to spend the warmest five days in 2018 so far.
Dorenda and Gordon looked after us so well that we’ve been thoroughly spoiled…… And Janet & Mike’s company was great fun!
We hope to come back again soon – time and family permitting. Sorry we couldn’t write a poem, though…

A lovely repeat of my trip last year – [plus that intriguing circle around the Olympic Park – but just as enjoyable, if not better.
Food, more food, a cosy bed, red-headed pochard, and comfrey; all things to remember. And some nice chats about canal things!
Thank you once again

In 1948 two nine year old boys met at Prep School in North Wales and maintained a friendship throughout the intervening decades. To celebrate 70 years of friendship we have spent a wonderful few days on Kailani with their respective wives, canal cruising in sunshine and luxury from Henley to Newbury.
Thank you very much indeed Gordon and Dorenda for your care of us all and helping so well to mark for us both a special milestone.

1 – 10th June 2018 Devizes – Bristol
This has been our third time on the Kailani and we have thoroughly enjoyed out stay. We have, as always, enjoyed the meals that Dorenda has prepared and cooked to a very high standard.
The scenery encountered between Devizes and Bristol has varied greatly and Gordon has steered us along gracefully. The weather has been reasonable, with the exception of 2 days, that were considerably cooler.
We’ve already booked for 2019 and will look forward to seeing Gordon and Dorenda again.
– Janet & Keith Burston –
25th to 30th May 2018 Newbury to Devizes also 1st to 9th June 2018 Devizes to Bristol
Our 2nd time on Kailani which was just as wonderful as the 1st. Gordon and Dorenda looked after us very well. They have served us delicious meals every day. It is marvellous how Dorenda has to attend to so many different tasks with such precision, and still cook those lovely meals.
The trip along the Kennet and Avon canal was lovely and peaceful and there were lovely spots along the journey including places where we moored. We enjoyed the company of all our fellow travellers, Christine & Andrew, Janet and Keith, as well as Gordon and Dorenda themselves.
